Eastern Jasper is a type of Jasper found in Hubei, China. Eastern Jasper has distinct banding and irregular patterning that make it easy to distinguish, along with the colour pallet of bone to pale yellow, orange-red, brown, black and white, occurring frequently in the one specimen.
Eastern Jasper will commonly have irregular patches of orange red jasper throughout, although not always, as the base colour of the stone may instead be a bone to pale yellow colour.
Red Jasper is an opaque stone from the Chalcedony classification, due to its microcrystalline structure, containing iron impurities resulting in the red colouration.
